The book was launched in the Unitarian Church on 4th November 2010 at a coffee morning held as benefit for Age Concern. Pictured below ( L to R) are Canadian Wendy Johnson, who flew to England for the event. (It was a collection of Wendy's wartime family letters that started Victoria's writing career.) Victoria, Hastings Deputy Mayor and the local co-ordinator of Age Concern.

As a benefit for Age Concern Victoria spent a day at the Age Concern Charity Shop, Battle High Street, Battle( close to Battle Abbey Gates). The shop window was given a lavender theme for the day.
On 10th October 2010 Victoria exhibited, pre-launch, at the Books Born in Hastings event at Hastings Town Hall.
Other events included the Ore Village Community Centre Christmas Fair, a signing at Waterstone's, Priory Meadow Shopping Centre, Hastings. and the Moon Times Book Store, Trinity Street Hastings. An image from the section of the book on 1947 advertisements and 'austerity tips'. |
