Ever had one of those days where the writer's worst nightmare comes to you - blank sheet of paper, blank mind!  Here are some great warmers - guaranteed to get you over those writer's block days.  If you find the starter you need here, why not enter one of our competitions, and show us the result of your efforts.

Write your own piece in the form of a recipe, using one of the subjects suggested or taking another subject of your own choice.

Once you’ve got a blank piece of paper in front of you and can’t think of a single word to put down, ask yourself this question: What things go to make up my subject?  For example, if you’ve chosen ‘Boring Sunday Recipe’, ask yourself what ingredients make Sunday a really boring day.
