Free-to-Enter Writing Competition

For writers living in the Hastings and Rother area

£100 worth of books as prizes, including a copy of the Oxford Concise Dictionary, and £5 for every entry we publish on the website.

at the ‘Books Born in Hastings’ festival at the Jenny Lind in September.

If this is a subject you have strong feelings about, please try this FREE TO ENTER competition.

 How to enter:

• Write an article or essay  (max 1000 words)  entitled WRITING COMPETITIONS – MY VIEW

• Include your address and telephone number or email with your entry (You must be over 16, and resident in the Hastings and Rother area)
• Send it to Earlyworks Press, Creative Media Centre, 45 Robertson Street, Hastings, Sussex TN34 1HL
• Entries must arrive not later than 31^st August 2008
• First prize: a copy of the new Concise Oxford English Dictionary  Winner and three runners up: £25 worth of Earlyworks Press books
• Highlights from the winning entries will be read out during the workshop at the Jenny Lind and our favourites will be published on the website. We will pay £5 for any we publish.
• Entrants keep the copyright of their work although, by entering, they give their permission for their work to be quoted from and/or published on the website for a fee of £5, payable on publication.

 The winners will be announced at the Jenny Lind at the start of the workshop (free entry – all welcome)
